It posts stronger results on Terminal-Bench 2.1 and CursorBench with more efficient tool calling, requiring fewer steps to complete tasks. Opus 4.8 shows sharper, more reliable judgment on agentic tasks, excelling at computer use and browser-agent work with an 84% score on Online-Mind2Web. It takes the highest Legal Agent Benchmark score recorded, becoming the first model to break 10% on the all-pass standard for substantive legal work. A key improvement is honesty: the model is roughly four times less likely than Opus 4.7 to let flaws in its own code pass unremarked, while proactively flagging uncertainty and avoiding unsupported claims. With a 1M token context window, better context management across extended sessions, and improved token efficiency, Opus 4.8 supports dynamic workflows that coordinate many parallel subagents for large-scale tasks.
