Grok 4.7 is xAI's flagship model for coding and knowledge work, released on September 21, 2026. It uses a new, larger base model than Grok 4.6 and a longer reinforcement learning run on a harder task mix weighted toward problems that take many hours to complete. xAI says the result works longer on difficult tasks, checks its own work more carefully, and manages long context better. The model takes text and image input, returns text, and has a 500K-token context window with no separate text output limit. Reasoning effort can be set to low, medium, high (default), or xhigh. On xAI's numbers it scores 46.3% on CursorBench 4.0 (GPT-5.6 Sol: 41.7%), 71.0% on DeepSWE v1.1 (Fable 5.1: 70.0%), 64.0% on the electrical-engineering benchmark EEBench, and 19.6% on Harvey's legal agent benchmark, while trailing GPT-6 Astra on HealthBench Professional (56.7% vs 62.1%). It fits long-horizon coding agents, engineering and legal analysis, and other professional tasks where the model needs to plan, verify, and keep working across a large context.
