Kimi K2.6, released April 20, 2026, is Moonshot's production-oriented agentic model tuned for long-horizon software engineering and complex task coordination. It is built on the same 1 trillion total parameter MoE foundation with 32 billion active parameters as K2.5, with additional post-training compute aimed at long-horizon stability, instruction following, and multi-agent coordination. The model posts strong software engineering results, reaching 80.2% on SWE-Bench Verified and 89.6% on LiveCodeBench, with strength in end-to-end coding across languages such as Rust, Go, and Python plus front-end and DevOps work. It adds native video input on top of image support through its MoonViT vision encoder, extending its multimodal range to dynamic visual content. A defining capability is agent swarm orchestration at scale, coordinating up to 300 specialized sub-agents across 4,000 coordinated steps for autonomous task decomposition. It supports a 256K context window, multimodal input across text, images, and video, and an OpenAI-compatible API.
