DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017, released on October 17, 2026, is a minor update to DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash that keeps its architecture, its one-million-token context window and its native image understanding. DeepSeek describes it as a Pareto improvement: better benchmark results with shorter outputs and faster task completion, so agent runs finish sooner and spend fewer tokens. The update was trained with reinforcement learning from self-feedback on end-to-end project development, aimed at building complete applications from scratch, from browser games to 3D scenes. DeepSeek reports 42.3 on Terminal-Bench 4.0 against 31.2 for the September checkpoint, 77.0 on DeepSWE v1.1 against 74.2, 29.1 on ProgramBench against 20.3, and 42.6 on Humanity's Last Exam without tools against 36.8, with gains on visual benchmarks such as Chartography and BabyVision as well. Weights are published under the MIT license. This key is pinned to the 1017 checkpoint, so it does not move when DeepSeek ships another update; the undated deepseek-v4.1-flash key keeps the September weights.
