Against Seed 2.0 it upgrades three things at once: engineering-grade code delivery, long-horizon agent execution and multimodal understanding, with stronger autonomous planning and the ability to notice and repair its own mistakes mid-task. It reads text and images, calls tools and follows strict JSON schemas, with a 256K context window and room for 256K output tokens including its reasoning. Thinking is on by default and its depth is adjustable, from answering directly to working through a hard problem at length. ByteDance describes it as production-grade for real enterprise engineering workflows, which makes it a fit for coding agents, multi-step automation and long-context analysis where a model has to plan, act and recover on its own.
