Seed 2.0 Lite arrived in February 2026 as the efficiency tier of ByteDance's second-generation Seed series. The model reads text, images, and video, carries a 256K context window with output up to 128K tokens, and brings the reasoning and coding gains of the Seed 2.0 generation to a lighter, faster package. It is aimed at high-frequency production traffic, the kind of visual understanding, document processing, and agent loops that run constantly and need consistent latency. Thinking support, tool calling, and structured output make it a practical default for agentic pipelines that do not need the largest model in the family.
