Sora 2 Pro is the premium tier of OpenAI's Sora 2 video generation model, producing higher-quality output for production use. It generates richly detailed video clips with synchronized audio, supporting 16 and 20-second clips, and adds higher-resolution 1080p exports at 1920x1080 and 1080x1920 beyond the base model's options. The model suits high-fidelity cinematic content and cases where visual polish and stability matter more than rapid iteration. It supports full video workflows including generation from text or images, iterative extension, character creation, and in-painting edits. Like standard Sora 2, Sora 2 Pro is deprecated and scheduled for discontinuation on September 24, 2026, with no announced replacement for video generation in the API.
