Kimi K2 Instruct is Moonshot's post-trained variant of the base Kimi K2 model, tuned for instruction following, conversational use, and agentic problem solving. It uses the 1 trillion total parameter Mixture-of-Experts architecture with 32 billion active parameters and a 128K token context window. Trained with the Muon optimizer, the model targets tool use, reasoning, and autonomous task execution. Moonshot reports strong results across coding (53.7 on LiveCodeBench v6, 85.7 on MultiPL-E), mathematics (69.6 on AIME 2024), and reasoning (89.5 on MMLU), making it well suited to general-purpose assistance with reasoning demands. The model is built for tool calling in agentic applications and is optimized for immediate, reflex-style responses rather than long deliberation. It supports structured output and runs on inference engines including vLLM, SGLang, and KTransformers.
