Seedream 4 is ByteDance's image synthesis model that unifies text-to-image generation and image editing in a single architecture. It produces high-definition images up to 4K resolution with fast inference, and can take multiple reference images and return several outputs in one request. The model is notably strong at typography and text rendering, a long-standing weakness for AI image generators, accurately placing headlines, captions, and labels while preserving color scheme, font, and alignment. That makes it well suited to design work such as posters, infographics, and branded materials, and its multi-reference control allows combining products, characters, and backgrounds while keeping visual consistency. The unified generation and editing design enables targeted edits like background swaps, layout adjustments, and clothing changes without disturbing unrelated regions. ByteDance reports Seedream 4 reaching first place in its internal Elo evaluation for single-image editing and high marks for prompt following, aesthetics, and text rendering on its image benchmarks.
