S2.1 Pro is Fish Audio's recommended production text-to-speech model, an improved version of S2 Pro with better quality, latency and throughput. It was announced on June 23, 2026 and builds on S2, which Fish Audio released with open weights earlier in the year. One model covers 83 languages with automatic language detection, and it supports voice cloning from reference audio. Expressive control uses natural-language cues in square brackets, such as [whispers sweetly] or [laughing nervously], which can be placed anywhere in the text to set emotion at specific positions. On Fish Audio's numbers, S2.1 Pro reaches roughly 90 ms time to first audio on standard calls and wins 61% of head-to-head listening comparisons against S2 Pro. This realtime variant uses Fish Audio's WebSocket streaming, which accepts text incrementally, buffers it until there is enough context for natural phrasing, and starts speaking before a sentence is finished. That fits piping streamed LLM output straight into speech for voice assistants, live chat, gaming dialogue and real-time translation.
